A wise man who goes by the name Nelson Mandela once quoted “Youths of Today are the Leaders of tomorrow.” We are the youths, we are the future, we are the generation that will move forward. His Royal Majesty oba ojora, who is popularly called Lagos ‘Bobo’ in his youth age, used the opportunity of his 70th birthday to engaged the great and vibrant Youth in Ijora kingdom, on an academic’s competition.
Youth engagement can lead to increased academic performance and improved social-emotional well-being. It helps young people build skills and networks that are valued in the workplace, and can thus be a source of economic mobility.
In continuation of the birthday celebration of oba Dr ENGR ABDULFATAI OYEYINKA AREMU AROMIRE OYEGBEMI II OBA OJORA OF IJORA AND IGANMU kingdom, on 29th December 2022. Kabiyesi organize Spelling Bee, Quiz/Debate Competition, among the youth in Ijora kingdom.
Of which many prizes was worn and he also gave Scholarships to the Winners and Runner-up.
As water is very essential to human life; so is a skill needed in the life of every serious-minded human being. Skills can do a lot of great work in the life of every living soul. It is common knowledge that about 80% of graduates in most Nigerian universities find it hard to get employment every year. This is largely due to the curricula of the universities and other tertiary schools with an emphasis on training for white-collar jobs.
As part of the activities packaged for the celebration of the oba ojora’s 70th birthday, was the skill acquisition and empowerment program, and also distribution of free wheelchair for the disable, where also part of the 3rd day activities.
