On the 15th of July, 2024, the Ojora, Aromire, Obanikoro of Lagos, and Oyaro royal families of Ile Ife gathered at Oba Ojora’s palace in Ijora Kingdom for a day of heartfelt remembrance. They came together as one to honor the life and legacy of their beloved sister and mother, Reverend Dr. Sarah Iyabode Oladunni Aromire Tairu, on the fifth anniversary of her passing.
Dr. Sarah Iyabode Oladunni Aromire Tairu was not only a cherished royal princess but also a dedicated servant of God. As the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Apapa Iganmu Chapter, she faithfully served God until her last day on earth. Her life was a testament to her deep faith and unwavering commitment to serving both God and humanity.
Family and friends fondly described her as a woman who feared and served God, and who possessed a character worthy of emulation. Despite her royal lineage, she lived with profound humility, never seeking the privileges of her status. This humility endeared her to many, ensuring that her memory continues to be celebrated even after her departure from this world.
Dr. Tairu’s enduring legacy is reflected in the continued impact of her good works, particularly her ministry dedicated to widows. Her remembrance activities fittingly included five hours of intense worship and praise to God, the Father of life, and the empowerment of widows through her ministry. The event also featured a special rendition titled “The Seed of Sarah,” among other tributes.
