The Distinguished Royal Circle Connect and Ojora Connected Youth, under the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Apapa Chapter, are pleased to inform the general public of an upcoming empowerment training.
I was privileged to attend a Training of Trainers (ToT) held on 2nd and 3rd February, 2026, where I represented the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Apapa Chapter, the umbrella body of all youth associations in Apapa Local Government.
The training was facilitated by Lagos Civil Society Participation for Development (LACSOP) with the theme:
“Citizen-Led Accountability Mechanism (CLAIM) for Mitigating Climate Change Impact Project.”
The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability and Development Goals (SDGs).
Beyond climate change awareness, the training focused extensively on Waste-to-Wealth, educating participants on how waste materials can be transformed into sustainable sources of income.
Many people see waste as useless, without realizing its economic value. In reality, materials such as old clothes, scrap metals, food waste, and plastic waste can generate income and promote financial independence. Waste-to-wealth simply means discovering value in what others discard.
