Hon. Adejumoke Endorsed For 2nd Term.
On April 23, 2025, the Apex Political Group in Apapa Local Government, known as the Apapa Integrity Group (AIG), officially endorsed Hon. Idowu Adejumoke Senbanjo for a second term as the Executive Chairman of Apapa Local Government. This endorsement represents a significant affirmation of her leadership and achievements during her current term.
The Apapa Integrity Group, which comprises influential party leaders from all five wards of Apapa, consistently advocates for the interests of the party and its loyal members. The group recognizes Hon. Senbanjo as the most qualified candidate to represent the party in the forthcoming Chairmanship election, citing her commendable accomplishments thus far in office.
The endorsement event was a landmark occasion, attended by a diverse array of stakeholders from the Apapa community, including Community Development Associations (CDAs), Community Development Committees (CDCs), youth leaders, market representatives, religious leaders from both Christian and Muslim communities, traditional worshippers, landlord associations, and representatives from various ethnic groups within Apapa, including the Arewa northerners, South South, South East, and the Yoruba population.
Among the notable speeches delivered was that of a respected political leader, often referred to as Baba Waheedi, a former APC chairman in Apapa. He emphasized that Hon. Senbanjo stands out among all past chairpersons of the APC in Apapa, highlighting that none of her challengers can match her caliber or contributions to the community.
The event also addressed internal challenges within the party, particularly the existence of party rebels who detract from APC unity and progress. Leaders urged attendees to remain focused and not be swayed by divisive tactics employed by these dissenting members, who, having benefited from the party, now seek to undermine its efforts. They prayed for the continual strength and unity of the party against such adversities.
Additionally, the leaders encouraged party members to mobilize more supporters in anticipation of the upcoming local government elections, emphasizing the necessity of retaining the Chairmanship seat for the APC. There was also a call to prepare for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term in office in 2027.
