Rev. Dr. Sarah Iyabo Oladunni Aromire Ojora Tairu, born on August 10, 1945, was a beacon of light and strength in her community. Hailing from a distinguished lineage, she was the first born and first daughter of the late Pa Jimoh Oladipupo Aromire of the Ojora, Aromire families in Lagos State, and the late Wulemotu Abeke Aromire of Ile Ife, Osun State.
Sarah Iyabode’s academic journey began at Ansar ru Deen High School in Lagos. She pursued religious studies at Lagos State University (LASU), furthering her theological education at Bible Canon College and United Bible University. Her commitment to spiritual growth and leadership was recognized with numerous clergy awards, notably from the Rev. Bola Akin John Bible Ministry.
Rev. Dr. Sarah Iyabode was a prolific founder and leader, establishing several impactful ministries:
- Power of Deliverance Evangelical Ministry
- Mothers Cry Ministry
- Kings Mentor Ministry
- Widows Cry Ministry
Her leadership extended to serving as the pioneer Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Apapa Iganmu Chapter, where she completed two terms with dedication until her passing.
Known for her vitality and health, Rev. Dr. Sarah Iyabode attended a state CAN meeting on her last day, where she metaphorically spoke of “going home to rest,” unknowingly bidding farewell to the world. She passed away peacefully on July 15, 2019.
Her legacy is revered, illustrating a life marked by resilience, faith, and profound impact. Rev. Dr. Sarah Iyabode’s contributions to her community and beyond are cherished, ensuring she remains forever in our hearts.
